My name is Natalya Godbold. I’m a PhD candidate at the University of Technology Sydney. I am investigating how dialysis patients and their home caregivers make sense of their experiences.
Aims of the project
- Understand how people make sense, by learning about how people make sense of dialysis
- Find useful, practical ways to provide better support to dialysis patients and the people they live with.
Methods
There are two parts to the project:
- Discussion groups – taking part in online renal discussion boards and forums to learn about how people talk about dialysis, how they support each other, what helps and what doesn’t.
- “Pen pal” correspondence – with people on dialysis or their partners, to learn about people ’s experiences in greater detail. -THIS PART OF THE PROJECT CLOSED JAN 2011
